Denver’s Landlocked Aquarium
The Denver Downtown Aquarium is a favorite family destination in Denver. Visitors to the aquarium can follow two journey paths. One path traces the ecosystems along the Colorado River, while the other illustrates the ecosystems along the Kampar River in Indonesia. The aquarium is also a center of conservation and is home to a number of endangered marine and reptilian species.
A Historic Zoo
Denver’s most popular attraction for families is the Denver Zoo. Founded in 1896, the zoo started with the city’s adoption of an orphaned American black bear and grew from there. It is now one of the largest zoos in the United States, and its Bear Mountain exhibit is considered to be the first exhibit in Northern America to use the natural style for zoos.
