The theater is stuated on the second floor of the Denver Museum of Nature and Science. The screen stands four- and- a- half stories high and six- and- a- half stories wide, making every show a spectacle. A renovation of the theater upgraded the sound system and replaced the aging screen. There is a dramatic sight and sound on a giant 4 ½ by 6 ½- story screen, which immerses you in stunning cinematography

IMAX puts you into the center of the action, immersing you in images and sounds that are so intense you can almost feel them. IMAX uses the biggest film frame in the world - - it's 10 times larger than the standard film frame used to show regular movies. In an IMAX® theater you'll experience breathtaking, crystal- clear images enhanced by exhilarating sound from the state- of- the- art digital surround system.

Phipps IMAX Theater can accommodate eight wheelchairs on a first- come, first- served basis. Wheelchair access to the theater during Museum hours is on Level 3 near the entrance to Prehistoric Journey. Please wait by the sign for an usher to assist you into the theater. Assisted Listening Devices are available free of charge on a first- come, first- served basis for amplification and descriptive narrative for certain films.

Hours: Show times vary. Box Office: Daily 9a- 5p
