Ski Train started its operation in 1940. Departing from Denver's historic Union Station, the two- hour ride crosses under the continental divide, passes through 28 tunnels, and provides unmatched mountain scenery as it winds into the high country and drops riders off within 100 feet of the Winter Park ski lift.

Today, the Ski Train aptly dubs itself “a Denver Tradition for Generations,” and each year introduces a new generation of skiers not just to the joys of skiing, but to the joys of traveling by train, as well. They have had such great winter success; they have expanded to operate Saturdays in the summer. The Ski Train Club service features reserved seating in larger reclining seats, 1 seat on the left side of the aisle and 2 seats on the right, with a service counter in the center of the car staffed by Catering by Design.

The Ski Train features 2 cafe/lounge cars staffed by Catering by Design. They sell an assortment of fresh juices, coffee, hot chocolate, breakfast burritos or croissants, and other delicious pastries. Nachos, soup, a variety of snack items, beer and wine are available for purchase on the return trip.
