Billed as the biggest St. Patty's Day fest in the West, paying tribute to New Orleans with an Irish Mardi Gras' theme, this is one of the nation's largest St. Patrick's Day Parade taking four hours to it's destination crossing unofficially through several bars and pubs in Downtown and Lo Do, with revelers celebrating into the wee hours, proceeding along with the floats, bands, leprechauns, green beer and clowns all being part of the fun.
Even if you are not Irish, or even into the parade scene, this is event a growing Denver tradition that can only be experienced by introducing your senses to traditional Irish performers and pipe bands decked out in green and plaids galore - - with beads, bangles and a little jazz thrown in for good measure, by just being there in person.
The parade starts on Blake Street, heads south to 17th Street, turns west at Union Station, continues north on Wynkoop, and finishes up behind Coors Field.
Start: 10 a.m. at 27th and Blake. Typically lasts until 1:30 or 2:00 — so don't worry if you're late getting started — there will still be plenty of parade to go around!
Admission is free.
