With an emphasis on preserving the natural beauty of the area, architect Burnham Hoyt designed the Amphitheatre located in a 640- acre park, The Red Rocks a geologically forged, deemed by the music world as the best outdoor venue in the country.

The pair of 300- hundred- foot sandstone pillars, Creation Rock and Ship Rock gives an impressive view of the Denver skyline adds to the park's visual drama, open- air Amphitheatre that is not duplicated anywhere in the world, walls of which were framed by gradual earth movement containing records of ages. Originally known as the Garden of Angels, has attracted the attention of musical performers since before the turn of the century.

Red Rocks Park is in a unique transitional zone where the Great Plains meets the Rocky Mountains at an Elevation of 6,200 feet above sea level allowing the visitor to see plants, birds, animals of both regions, spot a fox, raccoon, skunk, chipmunk, or squirrel. The trees found in Red Rocks Park include mountain mahogany, three- leaf sumac, cottonwoods and ponderosa pine.
